Why do you need to become a member of the Church?<\/b><\/p>\n

God wants you \u2014 and every Christian \u2014 to be part of the Church. The Christian life lived apart from the Church is not easy. Separated from the Church, we can easily be swayed by false teachings, or grow weak as we face the many difficulties of life. Within the Church, we have brothers and sisters who care for us. They become our spiritual family \u2014 to comfort us, laugh with us, weep with us, as well as worship and pray with us.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also His desire for you to serve His Church with the gifts He has given you. The Bible tells us that Christ has given spiritual gifts to equip the saints for the work of ministry. for building up the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11\u201312). You may be called to serve as an elder or a Sunday school teacher, or a member of a ministry team. God may even call you to serve as a volunteer on a mission field or to become a minister of the Word (a Pastor).<\/span><\/p>\n

Whatever you do, remember that God has a place for you in His Church. Pray that God would reveal His calling to you\u2014and then respond earnestly to His call.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span>How can you become a member of IRECT?<\/b><\/p>\n

\n

You may become a member of IRECT in one of the following ways:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \n
  1. \n
      \n
    1. Baptism at IRECT.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Profession of faith at IRECT.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Transfer of membership from another church to IRECT, accompanied by an official letter or document:<\/span>\n
        \n
      • a. A letter of membership transfer from your former church; or<\/span>
        <\/span>b. A letter requesting pastoral care from your former church; or<\/span>
        <\/span>c. A baptismal certificate and\/or membership document from your former church.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        What are the requirements?<\/b><\/div>\n

        The following are the requirements to become a member of IRECT:<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. \n
            \n
          1. A prospective member must complete the Open Learning class and take part in a church interview with the Pastor and\/or Elders.<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. A prospective member must be willing to make their profession of faith (attestation) during a public worship service, unless prevented by a reason with the understanding of the Pastor and\/or Elders.<\/span><\/li>\n
          3. A prospective member must be at least 16 years old at the time of making this public attestation during a public worship service.<\/span><\/li>\n
          4. A prospective member must agree to and be willing to carry out the privileges and responsibilities of an IRECT member.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
