Offering care and support to the congregation lies at the heart of the Care Ministry. Care is needed by everyone \u2014 not only in times of gladness, but also in times that are uncertain, difficult, and marked by sickness, crisis, and suffering.<\/span><\/p>\n The Bible exhorts us to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15), and to bear one another\u2019s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). We seek to put this exhortation into practice in the life of the congregation at IRECT.<\/span><\/p>\n IRECT provides care for the congregation through:<\/span><\/p>\n As the body of Christ, it is vital that we look after and support those who are weak. Those who are unable to come to church to have fellowship with fellow believers; those who are suffering from illness; those who have long been absent from worship at church; and those who are grieving\u2014all of them need care. In visitation, we listen to them, pray with them and for them, and strengthen them with God\u2019s Word.<\/span><\/p>\n We joyfully welcome members of the congregation and visitors to IRECT, especially those who are coming for the first time. Each newcomer will be introduced to the congregation and will receive a welcome package from the welcoming team, along with a card to fill out and return to a team member so that follow-up can be arranged.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to visitation and welcoming, the Care Ministry also organizes fellowship programs that aim to strengthen relationships among members of the congregation, including congregational birthday celebrations, church picnics, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Everyone wants to feel welcomed in a new environment, and needs friendship with others. For this reason, the question above is an important one. We suggest three ways for you to get connected at IRECT:<\/span><\/p>\n Attend prayer meetings and Bible study programs. In praying together, we are able to share our experiences and the burdens of life, give thanks, and bring our anxieties before God. In studying the Bible together, we discuss, seek to understand and appreciate the ways others think, and learn together.<\/span><\/p>\n Join a retreat. We hold a retreat once a year. Based on the feedback we have received from many who have attended IRECT retreats, we know that this program not only helps meet the spiritual needs of participants, but also opens opportunities for them to get to know others more closely.<\/span><\/p>\n Get involved in ministry. We believe that, in building relationships, there is nothing better than serving together. We invite you to get involved and volunteer from time to time.<\/span><\/p>\n Finally, experience has taught us that getting connected also requires effort on our part\u2014perhaps even by taking the first step ourselves.
