Pdt. Agus Barlianto Sadewa

Lead Pastor

Rev. Agus has served as the pastor of the Indonesian Reformed Evangelical Church in Toronto (IRECT) since 2006. Previously, he served as a chaplain and spiritual care worker at Reformed After-Care (RACE), a substance abuse rehabilitation centre; a youth mentor at Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) Perniagaan; an assistant pastor at Gereja Reformed Injili Indonesia (GRII); and a teaching staff member at Sekolah Teologi Reformed Injili Jakarta (STRIJ), a theological school for laity.

Rev. Agus received his Bachelor of Psychology degree from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, his Master of Christian Studies from Reformed Institute, and his Master of Theology in Pastoral Counselling from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary/Wilfrid Laurier University.

Rev. Agus has worked as an intern counsellor at Catholic Family Services – Peel Dufferin (CFSPD) and Christian Counselling Services (CCS), Toronto. He has also been registered as a member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care and the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). At present, in addition to his pastoral ministry, he is completing PhD studies in Human Relationships, with a focus on Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy, at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary/Wilfrid Laurier University.

Rev. Agus and his beloved wife, Shinta, have been blessed with three children: Agatha, Mark, and Benedict. He enjoys blogging, jogging, and sharing free Kindle e-books with his Facebook friends.
